Italy
Italy is a country established in the European Union, and it has a unitary/devolved state of government in which the central government is supreme. The country functions through a constitutional republic in which a multi-party system is established, and it has been a parliamentary republic since June 2nd, 1946. |
Germany
Germany is a democratic country which is represented by a federal parliamentary republic. It has a multi-party system that has been established since 1949, and has been dominated respectively by the Christian Democratic Union, and the Social Democratic Party. Germany is a federation that remains a country of the European Union. |
United Kingdom
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is in a devolved/federacy state of government in which the central government is supreme. This government sits within a constitutional monarchy, and in this constitutional monarchy, the Monarch (Queen or King) is head of state, while the Prime Minister is head of government. The United Kingdom can also be classified as parliamentary constitutional, and as a republic rather than a monarchy. |
Spain
For four decades, Spain has been a modern democracy. Currently, however, due to the ongoing incessant election in their country, they have no government. Spain is normally a parliamentary constitutional republic that is a part of the European Union. As seen in the figure of self-governance above, Spain is in a devolved state of government. |
Russia
Only a small part of Russia is within Europe, however, it still remains a great power in the continent. As many are aware, Russia is currently in a critical state of government. The country runs through a semi-presidential system, although the president, Vladimir Putin, is seen a dictator running a totalitarianism. Citizens are not free in Russia. |
Greece
Greece is a parliamentary republic government in which a semi-presidential system is established. The president, elected every 5 years, is head of state, whereas the prime minister is head of government. The country is in a unitary state of government, and can be classified as a monarchy within the European Union. |
